Bulging in coke drums can cause cracks which may result in leaks, fires, and premature replacement. This presentation is a review of the procedures used to assess bulging and develop long-term repairs for a set of operating coke drums that have suffered various degrees of bulging and cracking. The presentation also includes a discussion of repair challenges.
