Refractory is an important component to the reliability and performance of SRU trains, however, it is frequently overlooked or thought of as a commodity. There are many parts of the unit that require refractory, some are more critical than others where refractory is concerned, like the reaction furnace. In this presentation, we will discuss what types of refractory to use for each major area, and what properties are important for reliable service.
