What is a breakout group? They are small groups split up by topic, with a facilitator to help guide the conversation. This is a place where refiners share stories, ask questions of other refiners, voice concerns, and share advice. This is a great way to learn what the issues are and where your service / product might fit…As a fly on the wall! Industry and refinery secrets are being shared and you are privy to that information. I always suggest that you attend, listen, and take notes, but do not speak. You want the refiners to share without feeling like they are going to get a sales pitch. You never know, they may call on you and ask about your service/equipment. Wouldn’t you rather be there and get that kind of insider information over your competitor? This is a great way to learn what the issues are and where your service/product might fit.
