Before a hurricane strikes or freezing weather comes, we want to be prepared. That means knowing your FCCU is protected, your staff will be safe and sheltered, and your return to production will be quick.
RefComm® Galveston begins with a panel of your refinery industry peers exploring each of those areas. They’ll share experiences of what worked and didn’t work at the refinery, which will help us all to be better prepared. After this general panel, the CatCracking Hall has set aside their own time to delve deeper into issues that affect the Fluid Catalytic Cracker. You’ll hear stories about recovering from power failure, steam and electrical tracing and line plugging, and other issues caused by wind, high water and freezing. Their Lessons Learned will be the springboard for you and others to share what was effective for them, or where they need to improve. The take-aways will be to pick up lessons learned, get ideas for improving your own action plan and how to be even better prepared for the next hurricane or freeze and avoid incidents.
Since its inception twenty years ago, our company goal has been for all of us to benefit from the combined knowledge and contributions of our refining community. This is another excellent opportunity for you to share and learn with your industry peers.
