What happens in a coke drum is a “black art” if you will excuse the pun. Seriously, understanding how the level instrumentation works, why it is placed where it is, and what information the level data is telling the operator is missions critical to optimizing the unit.
For this panel discussion, we will be enlisting the expertise of two experts from companies (Vega and Berthold) who specialize in coke drum level instrumentation as well as two DCU licensor companies (Amec Foster Wheeler and Bechtel). During the discussion, we will review drum level trends and talk about why it makes sense to have level at certain places on the drum and not everywhere.
