The presentation will address Coker Yield determinants with a case study showing the effect of operating conditions on the distribution of liquid products from the Delayed Coking Unit (DCU). The ability of downstream processing units to process these intermediate products from the coker sets the optimum processing conditions to maximize liquid yields within the DCU. Based on the pricing of the individual distillate products (LCGO vs. HCGO), maximizing C5+ yields may not necessarily be the best option for the refiner in all cases.
