Maximizing DCU Liquid Yield from Arabian Heavy Feedstock

Presented By

Essam Al-Otaibi - SATORP

Conference:

Delayed Coker Units (DCUs) main objective is to maximize liquid yields out of the feedstock. The main key process parameters which have been conducted to improve the Liquid Yield (C5+), reduce both coke yield and gas make are as follow:

  1. Throughput Recycle Ratio (TPR). Mainly by reducing the wash oil and the vapor quench.
  2. Coke Drum inlet temperature. Mainly by increasing the heater outlet temperature.
  3. Coke Drum Operating Pressure by adjusting the compressor suction pressure.
  4. Velocity medium (High Pressure Condensate “HPC”), generally by increasing the HPC flow rate.)
