Use of metal plug valves in severe service applications has been common and widespread in the coker market for almost one hundred years. The lift plug valve technology has provided a highly reliable yet a low cost of ownership solution. Low steam consumption and minimal requirement for spare parts and spare valves being a few of them. Together with a new and highly reliable actuation technology the lift plug valve represents a major option for refiners looking to cut operating cost and increase their reliability in production. Our presentation will detail the advantages the lift plug valve technology holds in store and outlines the ways refiners will save on operating cost and increase their shut off valve reliability at the same time.
