The main purpose of non-lubricated metal to metal lift plug & switch plug valves is to avoid coke formation and valves’ deterioration during heavy oil processing.

There are different applications for these severe service valves:

  • Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC)
  • Visbreaker
  • Delayed coker

Why choose lift plug & switch plug valves?

  • Advantages
  • Technical features
  • Lift and turn mechanism o Flushing and purging drain o Handling solids in suspension o Seating surfaces cleaning method
  • Continuous evolution as per our experience

Lander Aranburu is a Product Development Engineer in AMPO POYAM VALVES. He has 7 years experience in the valve industry, where he has been focused on product development and improvement mainly for severe service valves (mining valves, refineries valves, …). He holds an Industrial Engineering Degree from Mondragon University in Spain.

David Swensen has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University as well as a Masters in Business Administration with a focus on Technology Management. David began his career in the aerospace industry and an engineering the flight test labs before entering the valve industry. David has experience with control valve and severe service applications. David has over 20 years experience in providing solutions for difficult applications in the hydrocarbon, power and petrochemical markets.
