Presentation covers the refurbishment of an FCCU Regenerator Vessel that had experienced significant wall thinning due to internal refractory failure.  The implementation of this repair technique provided the refinery owner with a significantly shorter schedule option vs. the alternative of section replacement.

The repair allowed the refinery to maintain critical path on a component that affected over 50% of the refinery capacity. Topics discussed will include the Fitness for Service evaluation of the repair, project planning and preparation details, and site implementation of the repair including schedule planned vs. achieved results.
