An Approach to Temporary Revamps

Conference: Valencia 2018

courtesy of AggrekoRapid fouling of heat transfer equipment in amine scrubbing systems reduces performance, especially during the hot summer season. Reduced acid gas absorption capacity can force cutbacks in crude throughput at the front end of the refinery, an extremely costly step. To mitigate, plants have the ability to utilize engineered, temporary cooling solutions to deliver ideal process conditions in critical periods of the year with no production interruption. Furthermore, the immediate added marginal value will mitigate having to acquire non-productive capital assets to minimize the risk of interrupting production. During this presentation, Massimo Capra, Manager of Aggreko Process Services – EMEA, will demonstrate and discuss the economic benefit for avoiding cutbacks, showing why the benefit-to-cost ratio for the use of engineered temporary cooling solutions is favorable.
