War Stories from the Sulfur Front

Presented By

Martin Taylor - Bechtel Hydrocarbon Technology Solutions

Conference: Galveston 2020

Airborne sulfur-toxicityGiven the sensationalistic press coverage of recent industrial accidents, there is a renewed zeal for industrial safety.  A collection of “war stories” is presented which will focus on human error coupled with poorly thought-out actions leading, in some cases, to disaster.

The “war stories” included are not solely those of the presenters.  They were donated by several anonymous contacts from within the sulfur industry with collective experience totaling more than 300 years.  The wording is as close as possible to the original authors, with editing only for clarity.
