Latin America is expected to continue to experience a slump in refinery throughput as crude runs in Venezuela remain at reduced levels since the Amuay refinery explosion last year and maintenance at Colombian refineries are expected to begin this month, according to the latest oil market report from the International Energy Agency (IEA).

Since the last report, the agency revised its forecast for refinery throughput in Latin America down 50,000b/d in the first quarter to 4.4Mb/d, but IEA expects throughput to increase to 4.5Mb/d by May.
