Valero Shuts Louisiana Refinery Cat Cracker for Maintenance

Feb. 28 (Bloomberg) — Valero Energy Corp., the largest
U.S. refiner, shut a catalytic cracker for planned maintenance
at its St. Charles, Louisiana, refinery.
Work started about a week ago, Bill Day, a company
spokesman, said in a telephone interview. Repairs will reduce
production by 100,000 barrels a day and take 20 days, the
company said in an October statement.

Valero Says Benicia Refinery Fluid Catalytic Cracker Shuts Down

Feb. 28 (Bloomberg) — Valero Energy Corp., the largest
U.S. refiner, said it shut a fluid catalytic cracking unit at
its Benicia refinery in California.
The unplanned event was caused by a pipe leak, Bill Day, a
company spokesman, said in an interview.
The unit, which can process 72,000 barrels a day, was shut
early today and will be out of service less than a week, Day
said.
