April 1 (Bloomberg) — Valero Energy Corp., the largest
U.S. oil refiner, said an alkylation unit is shut after a fire
yesterday in an electrical substation at its Houston refinery.
A gas compressor also shut after the fire. Valero spokesman
Bill Day said Valero expects “no impact to production.”
The refinery can process 85,000 barrels of crude oil a day,
according to the U.S. Energy Department.
