March 20 (Bloomberg) — Valero Energy Corp., the largest
U.S. refiner, said it began 52 days of planned maintenance this
week on the smaller of two crude units at its Quebec, Canada,
refinery.
The refinery, which can process 215,000 barrels of crude a
day, will lose 50,000 barrels a day in capacity while the crude
unit is being repaired, spokesman Bill Day said in an interview.
Valero also plans 37 days of maintenance on a coker at its
Delaware City, Delaware, refinery. Day said those repairs will
begin later this month or in April.
