Feb. 25, 2009 (Bloomberg) — Tesoro Corp., the largest oil refiner in the U.S. West, said it has completed unplanned repairs on a hydrocracker at its Martinez, California, refinery.
The unit, shut Feb. 23 to fix a leaking valve, will be back to full operation by the end of the week, Lynn Westfall, a company spokesman, said in an e-mail.
Hydrocrackers convert heavy hydrocarbons into lighter fuels such as high-octane gasoline.
The refinery can process 170,000 barrels of crude oil a day, according to the U.S. Energy Department.
