My refinery is in the FEED stage of putting in a Delayed Coking Unit. In evaluating the options for the treatment of the Coker LPG we realize that all the options generate some amount of Spent Caustic. Can anyone say how this spent caustic is typically disposed of or treated?

If the quantity is small, you can dispose it in WWTP in controlled/meterd dosing by monitoring the discharge effluent quality.

In our refinery we inject in the Sour Water Treatment in a small quantity. Of course, the water has a high pH and we send to desalter.
