Sinopec Gaoqiao’s crude capacity to rise 15 pct soon
    Reuters – Wednesday, January 13, 2010

BEIJING, Jan 13, 2010  Sinopec’s Gaoqiao refinery will replace an old crude oil unit with a larger one in April or May, increasing its refining capacity by 15 percent to 260,000 barrels per day , an industry source said.
The old unit, with a capacity of 66,000 bpd, would be mothballed after the new 100,000-bpd distillation unit commenced operating, the source, who is familiar with the plant’s business, said on Wednesday.
“But crude runs for this year may not be higher than in 2009 as some complementary facilities are not up to higher requirements,” the source said.  Gaoqiao processed 206,000 bpd of crude oil in 2009.

Here is update by Reuters on Sinopec’s Gaoqiao coking refinery (has 2 coking units mostly anode grade) which will raise its crude capacity by 15% and replace an older 60 MBD crude unit with new 100 MBD distillation unit by April or May. But it sounds like downstream units will not be able to handle the higher crude charge rates (possibly the coking units?) and will stay a 206 MBD crude rates for rest 2010. Since Gaoqiao wasnt on list for a coker expansion sounds like one may be in the offing?
    Regards
