Shell Reports Vapor Release At California Refinery Coker Unit
JAN 27, 2009 NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- The delayed coker unit at Royal Dutch Shell’s(RDSB, RDSA) Martinez, Calif., oil refinery caused emissions of steam and coke dust Wednesday, prompting a filing to California state environmental regulators.
The incident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. PST.
“The equipment is under investigation; it is unknown what of the delayed coker caused this release,” the report to the Emergency Management Agency said.
The Martinez refinery is able to process up to 155,600 barrels of crude oil a day.
