June 11 (Bloomberg) — Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Europe’s
largest oil company, said it plans to start a gasoline-producing
fluid catalytic cracker at its Deer Park, Texas, refinery today.
The unit will be restarted after a disruption yesterday
when a wet gas compressor “tripped,” the company said in a
filing with state regulators. Reuters reported earlier that the
fluid catalytic cracker had been started up.
The Deer Park refinery can process 340,000 barrels of oil a
day, according to the U.S. Energy Department.
A company spokesman did not immediately return a phone call
for comment.
