HOUSTON, Feb 10 (Reuters) – Shell Oil Co plans to overhaul a 57,900-barrel-per-day (bpd) gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit at its 145,000 bpd Anacortes, Washington, refinery between late February and early April, sources familiar with refinery operations said on Tuesday.
Shell declined to discuss which units will be shut during the overhaul, which the company revealed on Tuesday, but said “additional fuel supplies will be shipped into the area so product availability will not be impacted.”
The Shell refinery is the second in the Puget Sound town of Anacortes to carry out an overhaul this winter.
Tesoro Corp shut its 120,000 bpd refinery in mid-January while it does a plantwide overhaul expected to last about 30 days.
