An explosion hit Russia’s Angarsk Oil Refinery in east Siberia owned by state oil company Rosneft on Sunday, one person was killed, regional emergencies officials said.
A total of 120 square meters of the roof collapsed at the plant. There is reportedly no threat of a new explosion or harmful emissions.
The plant belongs to the Angarsk Petrochemical Company, owned by Rosneft. It is one of Russia’s largest refineries processing west Siberian oil coming via Transneft pipelines.
The Angarsk refinery makes over 200 products, including gasoline, diesel and other fuels, bitumen and oils, which are sold on the domestic market and are exported to 14 countries, Rosneft said.
