Petrobras to Bring 63 Offshore Oil Rigs Into Service by 2018

Aug. 13 (Bloomberg) — Petroleo Brasileiro SA, the state-
controlled oil company spending more than $112 billion on
expansion over five years, plans to add 63 deep-water oil rigs to
its fleet by the beginning of 2018.
Most of the rigs, 59, will be able to operate in waters at
least 2,000 meters deep, Petrobras, as the Rio de Janeiro-based
company is known, said in a presentation to investors at its
headquarters in Rio de Janeiro today.
