Petrobras started commercial production at the Sapinhoa oil field in Brazil. Several oil wells will be added and connected to the Cidade de Sao Paulo platform in the next few months in order to produce about 120,000 barrels of crude oil a day in the first half of 2014, according to Repsol, one of the partners in the consortium. The crude oil produced from the field will be taken to the Monteiro Lobato treatment plant in Caraguatatuba, on the coast of Sao Paulo State, through the Sapinhoa-Lula-Mexilhao pipeline.
