PORT ARTHUR – Authorities are investigating the death of a contract worker at the Motiva Refinery in Port Arthur.
Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett told KFDM News the man’s body was found on scaffolding.
Burnett pronounced the man dead shortly after 6 p.m. Monday.
The judge told us there are no obvious signs the worker was involved in an accident or was injured at the plant.
Burnett has ordered an autopsy to find out the cause of death, including whether a medical or health-related problem might have been a factor in the death.
He said the man was from the Phillipines and was working on Motiva’s multi-billion dollar expansion project.
