Most important reactor for Dung Quat oil refinery installed

September 17, 2007
Nhan Dan – The catalytic cracking reactor for the Dung Quat oil refinery was successfully installed on a 70-metre high tower on September 16.
The 515-tonne reactor is manufactured in France with advanced technology.
This is the most important equipment of the project. Its functions make it possible to produce petrol, diesel oil and FO oil.
To ensure a completely successful installation of the reactor, contractor Technip contracted with Japan’s Nippon to lease two 1,200 tonne crane trucks from Singapore to transport and install the reactor.
Started the construction work in June 2005, the Dung Quat oil refinery in central Quang Ngai province has a design capacity of 6.5 million tonnes per year.
Once in operation, which is scheduled for February 2009, the project will meet one-third of the country’s demand for oil and petroleum.
