Lyondell Starts Houston Coker After Repairs, Reports Flaring

    By Alexander Kwiatkowski
Nov. 27, 2008 (Bloomberg) — LyondellBasell Industries, a unit of Access Industries Holdings LLC, resumed the coker unit at its Houston, Texas, refinery after completing maintenance work.
LyondellBasell’s Houston Refining resumed operations at the coker on Nov. 26 after completing “extensive maintenance,” according to a filing to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Flaring occurred during the start-up procedure, the filing said.
The unit at the 299,300 barrel-a-day refinery had been idle for more three months of repairs.

yeah they flared then shut it back down due to a flare issue…. then the other coker developed a crack in one of its drums causing rate cuts and a 3 drum operation…. as of last night they were still repairing the cracked drum. and the other coker was still out of commission.
