Lyondell Starts Houston Coker After Repairs, Reports Flaring

Nov. 27, 2008 (Bloomberg) — LyondellBasell Industries, a unit of Access Industries Holdings LLC, resumed the coker unit at its Houston, Texas, refinery after completing maintenance work.
LyondellBasell’s Houston Refining resumed operations at the coker on Nov. 26 after completing “extensive maintenance,” according to a filing to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Flaring occurred during the start-up procedure, the filing said.
The unit at the 299,300 barrel-a-day refinery had been idle for more three months of repairs.
