SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — A small fire broke out Tuesday afternoon on the roof of a service tank at the Lima Refinery, but posed no risk to the community, according to Tim Hoehn, spokesman for Husky Energy.
The tank was not in service when the fire occurred. Hoehn said the fire did not affect production at the refinery.
“Refinery personnel have been sent into the community to monitor the situation. The situation poses no environmental, health or safety hazard to the community,” Hoehn said.
The fire occurred at about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday. The refinery emergency response team personnel responded to the fire. Local emergency agencies were notified.
