    About 93% of crude oil production and 67% of natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico has been shut in as Hurricane Isaac approaches the Louisiana shore, according to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement. The agency said that 503 of the Gulf’s 596 oil and gas platforms have also been evacuated.

    –Analysts say it’s unlikely Isaac will leave major damage in its wake
    –Several pipelines serving the region are shut down
