Does any one has experience with increase in particulates in Coker Gas oil at lower rates. We are seeing sporadic increases in the Coker Gas oil particulates whenever we reduce the rates through the cokers.

What’s the level of particulates? Are u doing size distribution and destillation as well?

We donot do size distribution. We measure in ppm level. IGO particulates at lower rates sometimes goes as high as >200ppm.

Typically particulates increase at lower rate due to higher residence time in the coker gasoil draw off tray; it is very common having filters plugging issues and high backwash frequency for the same reason; designs should be good to hold steady up to 350 wppm particulate content. However, this should be a temporary condition and everything should comeback to normal once raising rate.
