India’s Reliance Petro completes 82 pct of refinery

MUMBAI, Jan 15, 2008 – India’s Reliance Petroleum Ltd , which is building a 580,000 barrel per day refinery, has completed 82 percent of the work by Dec. 31,2007 the company said on Tuesday.
The company is a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd , India’s most-valuable listed firm that runs a 660,000 bpd refinery next to the new project at Jamnagar in the western state of Gujarat.
Reliance Petroleum, in which Chevron Corp owns a 5 percent stake, said in a statement it was on course to complete the project ahead of its initial schedule of December 2008.
