    Frontier Refinery Fire Under Control

    Cheyenne, WY – 7/28/2010

Around 5:40 this morning, a fire broke out in the crude unit of the Frontier Oil Refinery.
Right now the cause of the fire is unknown but the Cheyenne Fire Department does say they have the fire under control.
At this time there are no known injuries and there have not been any calls for evacuation.
Dispatch started receiving calls from neighbors around the area stating they heard a big bang before six 6am.
Three engines, a ladder truck, and the Batallion Chief were sent on scene.
Neighbors tells News Channel 5 the flames appeared to be shooting at least 150 feet in the air.
“Well, I was sitting there watching TV and heard a muffled pop like a firecracker. Got up and looked out and big flames coming out of the tower over there by the refinery.”

NewsChannel 5 will continue to update this story as information comes in.
