Example of some FCC Operational Problems encountered this week & in the news:

ExxonMobil’s Beaumont, TX Refinery FCCU reduced Nov 13 – The fluid catalytic cracker was reduced so that a valve on an associate compressor could be repaired. (Reuters Nov 13, 2007)

Shell’s Deer Park, TX Refinery FCCU – Shell reported leaking valves Nov 13 on a gas fractionator on a FCC Unit (Bloomberg Nov 14, 2007)

ConocoPhillip’s Sweeny Refinery Alky – COP reported a valve malfunction Nov 13, during the startup of the alkylation unit led to an emission event that only lasted 2 hours (TCEQ Tx State regulators filing Nov 13, 2007). <Know this is stretch for FCC event – but FCC’s do produce the olefins for alky (: >
    Regards
