    Crane Overturns At Conoco Refinery Trapping Operator

    HARTFORD, IL (KTVI-FOX2now.com) – A small crane overturned at the Conoco Phillips refinery Thursday. According to a spokesperson for the plant, the accident happened in the lay-down yard. The crane was putting pipes on a flatbed trailer to be transported to another location at the plant. During the accident, the operator’s foot was trapped between the door and the ground.

    Conoco Phillips first responders and Hartford, IL first responders worked to extricate him from the crane cab. The operator was alert and talking during the entire event.

    The victim was transported to a St. Louis hospital by helicopter.
    The incident is under investigation.
