HOUSTON, July 3 (Reuters) – Three workers were burned by steam at ConocoPhillips’ 247,000 barrel per day refinery in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, on Thursday afternoon, a sheriff’s department official said.
Two of the workers were taken to local hospitals and the third man was flown to a hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, said Maj. John Marie of the Plaquemines Parish sheriff’s office. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)

<Comments – Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office Major John Marie says one was in critical condition and airlifted Thursday to a Baton Rouge hospital. The others are being treated for lesser injuries at a local hospital in Jesuit Bend, about 25 miles south of New Orleans.
A refinery spokesman says operations weren’t affected the facility but he referred all other questions to the company’s corporate offices in Houston.  – CER >

RE: Guest Question  = COP Alliance steam incident – was this top-head incident?

I do not believe this was a coker top-head incident. The follow-up news articles all indicate that the contractors were doing a routine maintenance check on steam line when accident happened.
