SINGAPORE, Aug 11 (Reuters) – ConocoPhillips reported flaring of sulphur dioxide gas at its 76,000 barrels per day (bpd) Rodeo, California, refinery, according to a regulatory filing on Tuesday.
“This release is due to an ongoing flare,” it said a filing with the California Emergency Management Agency. It said 500 pounds of flare gas SO2 vapor was released early evening on Aug. 10, citing the cause as mechanical.
It gave no further details on the operational impact of the event.
