Is their any experiences with the use of a capacitance (Agar) type level indication for the water/oil interface side of the settling drum. Since our turnaround cycles were extended, the bottom tap on our settling drum plugs with solid/fines.

We use a Drexlebrook, not sure of spelling, to obtain a water level and it is set to read 100% 6″ below our weir. On the oil side we use a radar probe. Both seem fairly accurate once they are properly calibrated. The radar will also capture total vessel level once liquid on the oil side is at or above the weir.
