Valero Says Cracker Returns to Service at New Jersey Refinery
2008-06-02 14:42 (New York)
By Robert Tuttle
June 2 (Bloomberg) — Valero Energy Corp., the largest U.S.
refiner, said a gasoline-producing unit returned to operation at
its refinery in Paulsboro, New Jersey.
The 55,000 barrel-a-day fluid catalytic cracker was
“restarted yesterday and is moving toward full rates,” Bill
Day, a company spokesman, said in an e-mail.
The unit was shut May 26 for unplanned repairs because of a
leak in an expansion joint. The plant has a maximum operating
capacity of 166,000 barrels a day, according to U.S. Energy
Department data.
Valero is based in San Antonio.
