Wonder if there is potential Coker project that could be part of modernization completion & damage repair for Shymkent?
Here are couple Updates on Kazakhstan Refinery Shymkent fire damage there are only 3 refineries in Kazakhstan but country is long on domestic crude reserves. The other 2 Kazakhstan refineries (Atyrau & Pavlodar) are coking refineries which have had several drum replacements (last 2008 – 2010) since 1979 & 1986 originals respectively were put in.
The Skymkent Refinery has been since 2005 a JV (50%/50%) between KazMunaiGas and China’s CNPC (~2005). Originally commissioned as FSU Refinery in 1985 & sold to Petrokazkhstan in 2000, and then 50% was sold CNPC in 2005 and 50% to KazMunaiGas in 2007. Refinery runs mostly domestic crude Kumkol crude(75%) and West Siberian (25%) but plans shift to Atkobe (80%) & Kumkol (20%) when completes Shymkent Refinery Modernization project (1998 – 57% completed but abandoned) that is still planned complete before 2015.
