Here is update on the Eni Slurry Technology (EST) which became commercial operation at Taranto refinery in small unit in 2005, but will now startup full 23MBD unit in 2012 at Italy’s Sannazzaro Refinery.
It seems that both Eni & CVX (similar technology planned commercial unit for Pascagoula Refinery expansion) have backed off their original bragging about it making more product than coker and now just claim not to make coke or fuel oil.
