Here is update on COP closure. I understand LyondellBasell already moving to close French Berre Refinery because no interest.
All these type refineries are going screw up the “Capacity & Utilization” tables again next year. Because of announcements they will be put on close list but with environmentalist block (especially in Europe & US East Coast) against “New/Grassroots Refineries” brownfield sites like these at firesale prices aren’t going to stay close – someone needs lobby for putting them in same class as “idled” so they stay in Capacity tables as “operable”.
