I forgot to mention PetroCanada Edmonton news item …… runnin full syncrde will of course mean that the refinery ‘s unlikely to produce any anode grade green petcoke for nearby Alcan Calciner/Smelter at Edmonton (Strathcona).
Since PetroCanada makes up ~50% of Alcan’s calciner feed it is unlikely there are any sensible economics to bring in 50% more import green petcoke and then turn around and export 50% of calcined petcoke back into another Alcan smelter in Kitimat or ect.
