The PetroCanada Edmonton coker currently produces about
371 tpd or 125 kmtpy of anode grade petcoke that goes to
Rio/Alcan’s Calciner in area.
The expansion will put Upgrader in front of refinery and incrfease the
petcoke to ~1.1 to 1.6 million mtpy and will all be High Sulfur Fuel coke.
All this type info is in earlier post (ie Coker News 2/6/2009, Upgrader
news 11/3/08 and several other reports in 2006, 2004 & 2003.
Originally the expansion was to complete in 2008/09 but was delayed like all the
Upgraders expansions in the Sturgeon area. and elsewhere.
