Don’t think Nalco using Wind Power & Nuke power is going to be low cost Aluminum producer in India, but would have good diversification and balance.
Not sure why a company in India, with position they & China have regards to emissions, is trying to align with Kyoto norms when treaty might not even pass 2012 given positions Japan/Canada & US.
But Feedback from one my other contacts just said that apparently they have passed a law in India saying that large consumers (Like Aluminum smelters – which also consume calcined anode petcoke) must source 5% of their power from wind.
