Here is a TransCanada Upgrader Update – TransCanada signed an agreement to study Petcoke Polygen for FEED in 2008 with GE (bought old Texaco Gasification technology) and Bechtel (past partner with COP on coking technology). The Gasifier will use petcoke to produce several products as indicated in article = 300 MW electricity, Steam, Hydrogen, Nitrogen & CO2 for Fertilizer & EOR applications. Project slated to come online in 2013 just after upgrade coker is operational. News item & PDF are posted on Gasification Technology Council website – see link at end condensed version news item.
