You are familar with circuits & switches overloading in your house & “Tripping” out electrical switchbox controls I assuem.
Well units like FCC Compressor, and Sulfur Units have number of sensors that keep track of pressure, vibration, and number of other critical measurments that can cause the unit to “trip” out which often means shutting down, switching to flare or vent to alternate system.
Unfortunately lot Refinery terms are more colorful than they are descriptive but all tend to be very functional.
