This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to understand mechanical and structural failure modes in coke drums and manage their integrity in an efficient manner.

This course is tailored for refinery engineers and inspectors who are involved in the operation, reliability, and maintenance of delayed cokers. This training is also useful to managers who are involved in making decisions regarding vessel replacement. Priority for registration in this class is given to operating company personnel.

Your Instructor

Dr. Mahmod Samman, P.E.Dr. Mahmod Samman is the president of Houston Engineering Solutions. He has thirty years of industry experience mostly in damage assessment, repair, and life extension of coke drums. His state-of-the-art techniques in this field are utilized around the world. A licensed professional engineer in Texas, he has a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from Duke University, numerous publications, and four issued and pending patents. He is a member of ASME and ASCE and a committee member of API 579/ASME FFS, API 934G and API 934J.

Refund Policy

Fees are fully refundable until 11 September, 2017 (three weeks before the event), after which a $200 USD fee will be charged for cancellations. Registering for this course prior to 11 September, 2017 will help maximize the probability that the course will proceed as planned. Cancellations after 25 September, 2017 (1 week before class until 24 hours before class) are charged a 50% fee. All other cancellations and no-shows are nonrefundable. Substitutions are allowed. Submit all cancellations and transfers in writing, by email or by fax.
