Current Damage and Remaining Life Estimates for Coker Heaters

Presented By

John Norris - Stress Engineering Services

Conference:

Damage determination for fired heaters tubes in delayed coking heaters can sometimes be more difficult than damage determination for heater tubes in other process units. Part of this difficulty arises from the temperature variation between the start-of-run and end-of-run conditions including the higher (de-coking) temperatures. This presentation will outline a method using available process temperature and pressure indications (client supplied confidential data) to better estimate; operating history, damage accumulation, and remaining life.
